Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once. The major version you bought keeps working forever, and you get 12 months of updates included. When a new major version ships, existing customers get a discount — they are never forced to upgrade.
Does it need internet?
No. Recording, rendering and license verification all work offline. The app only touches the network if you explicitly click “Check for updates”.
Do my recordings get uploaded anywhere?
Never. Files are written to your local project folder. There is no account, no cloud library and no telemetry in the recording path.
I need an invoice for my expense report
Team purchases include a proper invoice. Personal purchases get a Gumroad receipt, and we can issue an editable invoice on request — email [email protected].
Can I move the license to a new laptop?
Yes. Deactivate on the old machine, then activate on the new one. If the old machine is gone, email us and we will reset the activation count.
What if it does not work for me?
Email within 7 days of purchase and we refund in full. No form, no interrogation.
Does it run on macOS?
Not today. Recast is a Windows app because that is where the gap is: the polished recorders are macOS-only. A macOS build is not on the roadmap for v1.
